Dear Mr. Owens:

Some time ago I send and received coded disc from you and now my brother would like one as well, so I am sending for one for him; his name is Archie Harvie. I would appreciate it very much if you would see that he gets one.

Since I received the disc, you sent me, I had a very sever accident, I had fifteen tons of material fall on me and broke my neck crushed my jaws and have been layed up since, but I carried my disc on me since I received it and since the day I got hurt I have never felt any pain or discomfort since. I am mending fast and will be as good as new in another month. I sure am glad and thank God I had my coded disc at the time.

(NOTE: The original letter became blurred when I put it in my shirt pocket then perspired heavily...hence the reason for adding typed copy of letter.
Also, fifteen tons fell on this man...that is the equal of the weight of five Chevrolet cars combined...which fell on him. Owens)
