A Plague on You
MIDLAND, Tex. (AP)-City health department crews battled invading grasshoppers Monday that blanketed Midland Sunday night, forcing cancellation of the Amarillo-Texas League baseball game.
"There were millions of them," sportswriter Bob Dillon of the Midland Reporter-Telegram said.
Dillon was in the stadium press box when the grasshoppers, some three inches long, swarmed the playing field and the stands during the first inning of the second game.
Women screamed, players swung their bats and fans clawed at the insects covering the playing field, the stands and the mercury vapor lights.
"I've never seen anything like it," Dillon said. "The umpires finally called the game off. The lights were turned off and as we walked out of the stadium the ground was just thick with them."
Health Department officials said a cool front that pushed into the area early in the evening might have brought the invasion.
"No one here seems to remember anything like it," a health official said. "The grasshoppers are still over town, and we have crews out there spraying in the downtown section trying to get rid of them."
TO MY SIX SCIENTISTS...
you can add this account to the other freakish rodent and insect infestations I have caused around the world...and called in advance in a previous letter to you.
Interesting here,..is that the writer said "A Plague On You."
As you know...I have PK'd Texas and Nevada, which is to say...I've put into action "a plague on Texas and Nevada"...with psi force.
And have just added Ohio, too.
This will not affect the disc-people.
It is being done...as a demonstration, which is necessary at this point in time.

RID MICE OFFER
BY MIRACLE MAN
A Virginian (U.S.) "miracle worker" has offered to rid Queensland of its mouse plague in one day.
This is claimed in a letter from an Innisfail woman, Mrs Winifred Mossop.
"I don't want you to toss aside this suggestion as a crackpot, as it's for real," Mrs Mossop writes.
"And since I was farming in your district and know what crop loss means, I think anything is worth trying once."
Mrs Mossop said she had spoken to the man, Ted Owens, known as "P.K." or the "Flying Saucer Missionary" by phone at Cape Charles, Virginia. The call, with two extensions, cost her $17.
"He said that if any farmer in Australia would pay his return fare, he would guarantee to get rid of the mice in a day," Mrs Mossop says.
Mr Owens gets his miracle working power, according to Mrs Mossop, from Unidentified Flying Objects. He believes U.F.O.s are here to help us, and to stop man from wiping out earth.
Quoting the American Saga magazine as her source of information, Mrs Mossop says Ted Owens:
Warned the Weather Bureau that U.F.O.s would work up three hurricanes simultaneously. Beulah, Camille and Doris faithfully showed up on the same weekend in June 1967 and smashed their way into Florida.
Worked up a Light- ning storm over Phillis delphia on a specified night in 1966.
Predicted the ex- plosion of a French sub- marine Euridice in the Mediterranean with the loss of 60 lives; and
Saved a corn crop by sending rain.
Mrs. Mossop lists several other accomplishments of Mr. Owens.
"He said if all the farm- ers put a little each in towards his fare, he will do them a good deed."
She says Mr. Owens can be contacted by telephon- ing Cape Charles, Virginia, 3311268, or at his home address P.O. Box 48, Cape Charles.
NO TRACE
BRISBANE. Detectives yesterday conducted investi- gations in the city, Clay- field, Amberley and Ipswich in the hunt for missing W.R.A.A.F. Policewoman, Gaye Christine Baker.
However, they said the leads had revealed no trace of the 23-year-old woman who was last seen in the Clayfield area last Sunday.

# 4 Rob E. Shore Bank of $52,000

## 2 Forced Into Vault By Gunman
KELLER—Four men, one of whom held a pistol, robbed United Virginia Bank-Seaboard National of about $52,700 here Wednesday, a bank spokesman said.
Cashier George Cavish said the money was taken from a vault into which he and a teller were forced and from drawers in the bank.
He said the pistol-wielding man, who was “very nervous,” demanded, “Do as you’re told and you won’t get hurt.”
He said the man’s hand was shaking and “he kind of pulled the trigger back” as Cavish and the teller were ordered into the vault.
He said the man, about 5 feet 7 and 160 pounds, appeared to be in his late 30s and was accompanied by two younger men. A fourth man waited in a car outside the bank, witnesses said. All are black.
Cavish and Teller Mrs. Laura Bolle Taylor were forced into the vault while the men made their escape. The door was shut on them but did not lock, Cavish said.
Fern Ward, a secretary to an attorney who has an office nearby, said she saw three men carrying three bags leave the bank in a hurry.
Bank officials said a camera inside the bank was activated during the robbery, but FBI agents said not all the men were photographed.
Virginia Police said a car matching the description of the one believed used in the getaway was found in the Bodijown area of Pungoteague, five miles west of here.
Mrs. Ward said the car bore New York license plates.
The car pulled up in front of the bank about 10:30 a.m., Mrs. Ward said, and the three men walked “leisurely into the bank,” leaving the fourth behind the wheel.
Mrs. Taylor said she greeted the men when they came in. One pulled a pistol, she said, and told her it was a robbery.
Cavish said he and Mrs. Taylor were the only people in the bank at the time of the robbery and they were forced into the vault.
They waited inside the vault until they believed the robbers had left, he said. Then they summoned help.
Mrs. Ward said the bank alarm, which sounded when the men were inside, had previously malfunctioned, and she started toward the bank to tell employees of the sounding alarm. Her boss stopped her.
“Things looked suspicious,” she said she was told.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Ted Owens, known as “PK Man,” who lives here in Cape Charles on the Eastern Shore, stopped by the State Liquor Store in which I work yesterday morning, about 10 a.m. (Wednesday, August 9, 1972)...and informed me that his brain had picked up a plan by bank robbers to rob a bank, or a liquor store, right away...and that we had better be ready for them at our store. He also told me that the Cape Charles Bank might be in danger of being robbed.
Later in the day, on television and radio...it was announced that indeed robbed a bank at Keller, a small town up here (Cape Charles).
I swear that this is a true and accurate statement to the best of my knowledge.

TO MY SIX SCIENTISTS...
I wrote you on November 12, 1971...quite a bit ago...and told you that "my demonstration will be...in the skies and heavens overlooking our earth... and even in outer space beyond our earth."
You'd better dig that up, and read it in full. Better yet...I'll xerox it and enclose a copy for you.
It has taken this long...for my powers to get this done (space-time in psi-force is different than in our space-time continuum.)
Now I would assume that from here-on...planes might be in danger, and the water attack that I write of...might be even more dangerous even than it has been (Hurricane Agnes; Ken, West Virginia; floods in South Dekota, etc.) (Not to mention the worst typhoon in the history of the Phillipines.)
So here it is. The power I "sent up" in 1971...hes just arrived!

To The Scientists I Know:
Gentlemen, it is...time...time to give you a demonstration...to strike fear into your hearts.
I am not...your ordinary, orthodox human; even "experimenter". And I have waited too long, overlong...for some cooperation, from somebody. I've worked too...long with pro football teams...waiting for some scientists, somewhere, to make an approach. Now it is too late. Too late.
My demonstration will be...in the skies and heavens overlooking our earth...and a zone in outer space beyond our earth. This has nothing to do with the SI's work. This will be my own...and by the time you receive this, it will have been put into effect. Sometime, perhaps, I will dismantle the apparatus. Perhaps.
What I am going to do...is thrust tremendous, smashing, destructive thrusts of power...up through the skies over the earth, even into outer space. No airplane will be safe in outer space. Invisible waves of irresistible force...will permeate our skies. Until I call them off, sometime, some day.
My powers...and ability...have been taken too lightly. If not, then I would have been approached and cooperated with, before this time. I can't wait forever; therefore the infinite powers which I possess...must be brought out and thwacked across the heads of stupid humans...to show them that a fact is a fact. Then we will take it from there.
So...right now the waters of the world are turning their intelligence toward the destruction of humans. This was brought about...because my word of warning was not heeded...ere further pollution.
Now...the very air of the earth overhead...will be a moment's land...waiting, waiting for humans to get up into it. In airplanes or whatever.
If you have any human decency...you will issue a general warning to the public not to fly in planes. But...the love of money being what it is...you will not, and they will.
And airplanes will fall like snow in December. I think this is the SI half of my brain talking...but whatever...it is very real, as borne out by my past demonstrations.
It is incongruous...I stop or divert the flow of giant land slides, and save villages...goes out about it. The SI's are not credited; their powers are not pointed out to the public. So...we go from positive to negative powers. Unfortunate. But...there it is.
