Seawell Succeeds 3/23/72

Halaby Quits Pan Am

NEW YORK (AP)-Najeeb E. Halaby resigned Wednesday as chairman and chief executive officer of Pan American World Airways and was succeeded by William T. Seawell, a former Rolls-Royce executive who became the airline's president last November. Halaby had no immediate comment on his resignation, which came at a Pan Am board meeting which had been advanced two weeks from its scheduled April date. The resignation came amid speculation that Halaby might have differed on policy matters with Seawell, the 54-year-old chief operating officer of the airline, which is the nation's biggest international carrier. Halaby, 56, was named president of Pan Am in 1968, chief executive officer since 1969 and chairman since last May 5. He had been both president and chairman until Seawell was picked last November. Pan Am also said Wednesday that it sustained a net loss of $10.9 million in February, a bigger loss than the $7.7 million deficit in the same month a year earlier. The airline has listed losses every year since 1969 and reported a deficit of $45.6 million in 1971, compared with a loss of $48.5 million the year before.

This Pan Am PK case...parallels the Phila. Eagle PK Case...if you will notice. I hit the Eagles with PK...this was written up in the papers by McGinnis (who later wrote the best-seller, "The Selling Of A President")...then the Eagles proceeded to lose their games; players got injured way past the usual percentage; the coach Kuharich got fired; and the owner, Jerry Wolman...worth over 50 million on paper...went bankrupt.

In the Pan Am action the SI's told me in '69 to write Najeeb Halaby personally and ask him to finance my work with them, and if he would not...then they, the SI's...would take action against Halaby and Pan Am. This was written up in the Norfolk paper by Haddry...and two FBI men came to the office where I was working to question me. Following this all sorts of peculiar things began to happen to the SI's. Attached are some of them. I documented one particular thing I did, personally, concerning two of them. Anyway, what has followed...has duplicated exactly the Phila. Eagles pattern. From my start in PK'ing Pan Am...they've begun to go broke (see clip above). And to top it off, Halaby himself is out.

These things have not been done by the SI's and I for purely malicious or frivolous purposes. The SI's have been trying desperately to get someone, somewhere, to financially back my "research" with UFO's. When they would not, then the SI's used them...for demonstration purposes.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Jack Ramsey, coach of the Philadel- phia 76ers, resigned Sunday after his team lost its final regular- season National Basketball Asso- ciation game to the Golden State Warriors, 116-115.
"For the best interests of all, I am withdrawing from the sit- uation," he said.
"My premise on playing is that my team play as hard as possible for as long as possible. This team did not reflect my philosophy."
Ramsey, 46, said he still wanted to coach.
"If a geographical move is necessary," he said, "my fami- ly is prepared to make it wher- ever it may be. I will wait to see what develops."
Ramsey, who had one year remaining in his contract with the 76ers, said he had no prob- lems with the team's owner, Irv Kosloff, or with general manager Don DeJardin. He said he told DeJardin Wednes- day of his decision to resign.

CONTACTS -- S.me years ago 1 "hit" these Phila. 76'rs with PK...along with the Phila. Eagles and Phillies. Since then...none of these teams has been able to do much...except cripple through their season. The smart players...left. Chamberlain, Chet Walker, Archie Clark, etc. At last Ramsey has gotten smart, and left. Who will be the new coach of this jinxed team?

For your interest...am now doing the same thing with the Baltimore, Maryland, teams...that I have been doing with the Philadelphia teams. Two cities...utterly "jinxed" sports-wise!

## 2nd, 3rd From Boat

# Bodies Recovered

PORTSMOUTH—The bodies of two men who were aboard the ill-fated oyster boat Betty Ann II were found Sunday about 20 miles south of the mouth of the Potomac River where a third drowning victim was found Saturday.

A Coast Guard spokesman here at the 5th District Coast Guard headquarters identified the two men as Lloyd Stevens, 67, and Charles Stevens, 31, of Chester-town, Md.

The body of Kenneth L. Stevens, 44, the son of the eldest victim and father of the youngest, was found about 3:10 p.m. Satur-day by the pleasure boat Mary Ann between Smith Point, near the mouth of the Potomac, and Tangier Island.

All three bodies were wearing life jackets.

A Coast Guard HU16 twin-en-gine seaplane located what looked like two life jackets off Windmill Point early Sunday afternoon. An air-cushion vehicle was dispatched to the scene and found the two bodies, the spokes-man said.

The Betty Ann II left Newport News Thursday enroute to Rock Hall, Md., the Coast Guard said. An initial medical examination of the body found Saturday indicat-ed that Kenneth Stevens probably drowned Friday, according to the spokesman.

"We still don't have any idea what happened to the boat. We have found some debris, that could have come from the boat, in the area where the bodies were found," the spokesman said.

I BELIEVE THIS is a most important letter to you.

First, see Fred Steiger's book, "What The Seers Predict for 1972", at your bookstore, Lancer Pocketbook. Chapter on my work. P. 140, part of my chapter... "Mysterious Forces from Bodies of Water...The Si's have ordered humans to stop polluting lakes, rivers, streams, and oceans within three months time or they will have the bodies of water — which carry a combined intelligence which humans know nothing about — attack human beings in their own way. As of this time, the governments have done nothing, so you might expect all sorts of things going on against humans coming from bodies of water in 1972. This will not be a good year to go swimming, fishing, or boating. It could cost you your life."

Note above...I said the Si's would have the bodies of water attack! I.e., this would be Si-caused phenomena! Now, examine these newsclips on p. 1, 2 and 3. These came from the papers of yesterday and today only. All of these did! Why? To get my attention...so that I would notice it, then write to you.

Now, the bombshell is p. 3, great wipe-out in Men, West Virginia. You will recall, from past correspondence (and stated in Binder's

Sage articles also)...that I claim the UFO's "talk" to us...by having things happen like the long string of police cars that followed a UFO for a hundred miles, a few years ago...it even slowed up so the police cars could catch up with it, when it got ahead...and it led all those police cars to a town called Freedom (in Pa., I believe.) They were saying...in this way...that they could lead us humans to freedom. Now, another message from the Si's...they are saying, "This destruction is coming to Men (mankind) (Men, West Virginia...name of the town) because Men" is not listening to us, or cooperating with us, or Owens, our go-between." In essence...the Si's, then, are talking to us in a way we can understand and relay it on to humans. Remember the case of the Michigan Monster...that put out a giant hand and stopped a car going 50 mph? It reached in, grabbed the girl driver by the hair (while the other door and ran) and gently, very gently, bumped the girl's head against the side of the car. It did not harm the girl. And the girl's maiden name? Owens. By doing this...the Si's were sending a talk message... (the Michigan Monster could have crushed the girl's head like a soda-cracker)...they mean no harm; intend no harm. That was the message at that time...and I got the message clearly. From Owens to Owens. Think of the ingeniousness of it! It had to be done just in that manner...to a girl named Owens...and be reported in the papers...so that I'd see it and understand and relay it on to humans.

In deliberately turning loose the dam onto Men, West Virginia...the Si's are telling us that they, not we...control our water supplies. They control our oceans and our seas. And that they are getting impatient about the whole thing. The urgency...of our cooperating with the Si's...cannot be stressed in strong enough terms!

What they want now...is for me to be placed, to live, on the Mayaguez...and of the island of Puerto Rico (the corner of the Bermuda Triangle) so that they can reach me more easily, thus communicate in an easier fashion. My present location almost voids the kind of contact they went with me. And it is my conviction that they will raise hell...until they get what they want.

ISTANBUL, UPI)-The 6,000-ton liner Marmara, one of Turkey's most luxurious passenger ships burned and sank Sunday in Istanbul's Golden Horn harbor while waiting to dock for repairs.
Fire department officials said all the crew were rescued and there was no loss of life. The vessel carried no passengers.
Istanbul's entire land and sea firefighting force fought the blaze for eight hours and managed to avert an explosion that might have ignited nearby vessels and shore-based fuel dumps but could not save the liner itself, a fire department spokesman said.
"We lost the ship but Allah was with us and we forestalled a situation which could have been worse than tragic," the spokesman said.
"The cause of the fire was not immediately known he said.

A Light Stand

GALVESTON, Tex. (AP)--A tiny light, spearing the darkness with tireless winks, stands a lonely vigil 50 miles offshore in the Gulf of Mexico.
Below that light--90 feet down in the clear blue of the Gulf--lies the twisted and shattered remains of a tanker.
It was the V. A. Fogg, a 28-year-old vessel which once enjoyed a reputation as one of the finest ships of the U.S. tanker fleet.
Men enjoyed working its white decks. In a dangerous trade where workers often move from vessel to vessel, the Fogg was a favorite, with airconditioned quarters, and well-maintained machinery.
"It was one of the best," says a man who knows tankers and operates a competitor.
"That's what's so puzzling about how she went down. It's almost like it was an act of God."
On Feb. 1, the Fogg was in Freeport, ridding herself of the last of a large load of benzene, by umn of smoke rising through a dense cloud bank below him. He reported it by radio.
The Coast Guard was alerted, but a search by aircraft revealed nothing and was canceled.
The next morning, Feb. 2, officials of the Texas City Tankers Co. were becoming worried. The Fogg had been due in Houston at 2 a.m., but had not reported. Nor was she answering radio-telephone calls.
Shortly after noon, the company formally declared the vessel overdue and notified the Coast Guard. There followed a massive search by ships, airplanes, and helicopters which lasted 11 days and ended in failure.
Then, Joseph D. Cheavens, 31, Houston, attorney for the shipowners, checked a tape recording of conversation between the test pilot and a control tower. In it he found a location which was miles from where the Coast Guard had searched.

Hovercraft
That Killed 4
Goes Under
PORTSMOUTH, England (AP)--A 10-ton hovercraft which flipped over onto its back in Portsmouth harbor during a gale, killing four passengers, sank Sunday alongside a Royal Navy repair ship. A salvage attempt will be made.
The vessel, which plied between Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight riding on a cushion of air, was just coming in to land late Saturday (when a big wave lifted one side and high winds tipped it over.
Twenty-two passengers and crewmen were saved, but a man, two women, and 7-year-old Julie O'Connell were trapped inside and died. Julie had always wanted to go for a hovercraft ride and she was taken on a round trip by a friend as a special treat. The friend was saved.
Temporary restrictions on hovercraft operations, including a speed limit of 30 knots, were imposed by Hovertravel, Ltd., owners and operators of the craft which turned over. The restrictions will remain until an official inquiry is ended, a spokesman said.

WASHINGTON (AP)
About nine Soviet ships hovered around a disabled Russian missile-firing submarine Saturday as the sub continued to drift in the stormy North Atlantic eight days after it broke down.
The Navy reported that two long-range Russian patrol bombers dropped 23 packages to the submarine by parachute the second such resupply effort since mid-week.
The H Class submarine, which carries three 650-mile range missiles, was reported drifting about 900 miles east northeast of Newfoundland amid waves running up to 15 feet and intermittent snow squalls.
A Soviet submarine tender was observed Friday by NATO patrol planes based on Iceland when the sub tender was about 400 miles northeast of the sub and on course toward it.

MAN, W. Va. - James Brunty's name was the first one on the typed sheet taped to the glass of the trophy case at Man High School. It didn't say much about James Brunty; only that he was deceased.
And the list had 71 other names on it five days after James Brunty died in a rush of black water that did incredible things as it washed down 12 to 15 miles of Buffalo Hollow.
The water took Daryl Kay Dillard, too. The list was a little more specific about Daryl Kay. They had put "little girl" in parentheses beside her name.
It didn't say whether they had lived in Pardee or Craneeco or Lundale or in any of the more than a dozen coal towns which had been strung out like an unclasped necklace along Buffalo Creek.
The thing that turned Buffalo Creek into a killer was a dam, a coal company slag heap dam, which had held back for a long, long time the waters of a tributary of Buffalo Creek.
The dam broke on Feb. 26, a Saturday morning, and Craneeco and Pardee and Lundale and almost everything else down the hollow to Man went with it. The hollow literally bumped into each other. It was hard that witnesses on the ground saw sparks fly between the houses as they crashed together.
At a place called Man nature has rearranged and ruined the belongings of man.
Deeper in the hollow, where Lundale used to be, heavy equipment is still working on the road. A construction man in a new and clean pickup truck is fascinated by what he saw at Lundale: a church on the railroad tracks with the tracks running out the front door.
Up the hollow from Accoville, there is Braeholm, closer to the wild water, but most of the residents there heeded a radio warning and took the high ground. "They used to call it Burntrome," said one. "God, it's burned now."
The sewing machines in the home economics room have been pushed against the wall to make room for the cots. By midweek, some of the victims have started moving out of Man High School.
The list will soon be gone from the trophy case, along with the optimistic, 16 pages of "Known Survivors."
For miles up Buffalo Hollow, wood which once made houses drifts in the black, still swift waters of the creek. On the banks of the creek, the debris is piled high, a story of the flood. It is a story told in the mud, in the ruined belongings of man.
Garland Clark's close pet wasn't even hurt, he came by Friday night, a rainy night, and said the water was close to the top of the dam. Garland Clark's house unboiled carpet wasn't even hurt, he passed and sitting on the roadside, wants to know what to do about his house. It is worth $12,000, he said. It is cleaned up now and if he could get moved he could live in it.
He thinks it is the Health Department which must tell him what he wants to know but he says that nobody will tell him what he wants to know.
There is talk that the houses all jumbled there together will be torn up or burned.
